Dragon Well tea, grown on the Hangzhou hills, is most pure—and most expensive—just before the Tomb Sweeping Festival in early April. The weather has yet to turn humid and wet, so insect populations remain low and farmers don’t see a need to spray pesticide to protect the tea. A team of pickers, has spread in constellation across the field, picking the new leaves to take for processing in a nearby village.
