The historical houses are rarely found in modern Taiwan; most of the old buildings are being preserved by law now. Once I visited a historic site, I saw a man wandering in the yard of the traditonal residence, immersing himself in meditation with the lighting of lanterns. Such scene depicts a typical serene lifestyle in the past.
