I explore my love for water in relation to my hypersensitivity. Through self-portraits, I evoke the comforting, peaceful place, away from the chaos of the outside world, a place where it is easy for me to let go, a cradle in which I can dance with life.
Nancy Hamel (Nhi) is a fine art photographer and artist based in Montreal. Nancy’s work is strongly influenced by her background in contemporary dance. She has the DNA of movement tattooed on her heart. Her work reflects a minimalist, graphic aesthetic which captures a gentle yet colourful world. She approaches subjects that are serious, often with deep personal significance, but with a touch of softness, aimed at drawing out beauty and prompting reflection by the viewer.
