The world is watching, the national flower of Ukraine is the Sunflower. The original sunflower was home grown in our garden. The still life image of the sunflower with the pocket watch was photographed in the studio on 4x5 with Kodak Ektachrome Film in 1990. Each item was placed on an individual layer of glass, the sunflower on the lower level with the pocket watch on the upper level prior to being photographed . The Ukraine text, blue sky, and the Channeling Magritte figure was added in Feb. 2022 using Adobe Photoshop.
William Douglas King, is an award-winning exhibiting photographer and photo-illustrator with significant expertise in studio lighting, commercial photography and compositing. His works include Give Peace a Chance a submission to the Capture Your Freedom exhibition at the Four Freedoms Park Conservancy. William’s most recent awards include the American Society of Media Photographers, Rangefinder magazine, 12th ,13th & 14th International Color Awards, IPA Int’l Photography Awards, the 14th, 15th Annual Black & White Spider Awards, and the 2019 Tokyo International Foto Awards.
