These images form part of a larger, ongoing series of post modern architecture in London. I find Brutalism fascinating especially in how it can strongly divide opinions. It puts an emphasis on materials, textures and construction as well as functionality and equality, producing highly expressive structures with massive, monolithic and ‘blocky’ appearance with a rigid geometric futuristic style. Brutalism was popular for rebuilding government buildings and providing social housing in post war Britain. The age of brutalism, however, was short-lived beginning to decline in the 1970s.

I’m an avid, amateur fine art photographer currently based in London. I began my own journey with travel photography, aiming to capture the essence of each of the places I visited. Inspired by the contemporary environment of Singapore, I later focused my attention on cityscapes and architecture. More recently, I find myself attracted to nature and seascapes.
