The Tulum ruins is an ancient Mayan site which served mainly as a port 800 years ago. It is a very popular destination amongst tourists. During the pandemic, the local authorities closed this site to limit the spread of covid-19. At first, this impacted local tour guides whose livelihood depended on providing tours to visitors. Eventually, they figured out they can continue to do so at a safe distance from sea. I was lucky enough to be flying drone when a tour was happening at this very moment.
