The emperor penguin is the tallest and heaviest of all living penguin species and is endemic to Antarctica. The male and female are similar in plumage and size. These flightless birds breed in the winter. I was literally lying flat on the floor while I was shooting this image. Why I did this is because when we go lower than their height they feel less scared of being around us. Hence they opted to spend a good amount of time beside me and I was lucky enough to capture some beautiful shots. On this particular trip, I had walked an average of 8 hours per day in search of a perfect frame.
