The Lockdown

Slovenia reported its first case of covid-19 on March 4, 2020. Two weeks later life came to a halt as the country went into a total lockdown. This is a personal account of how life in a small town changed. From empty highways and streets to boiling washable face masks, the home isolation and obligatory disinfecting of residetial buildings by residents themselves.

I am a documentary photographer and photojournalist. I have a BA in English and Journalism from the university of Ljubljana and have been working as a journalist and photojournalist since 1995. I've been a regular contributor to National Geographic Slovenia for 15 years. My news photos are distributed by photo agencies around the world. I've also published photos and stories in National Geographic Traveler UK, The Guardian, Terre Sauvage etc...
