During this plague year I found myself neither able to take my usual commercial work nor photograph the people and events that are my personal subjects, and so I have kept occupied with studio work. Still life has never been a fine art pursuit of mine, but I found its technical and mental challenges an absorbing and welcome occupation. Perhaps in response to these times, using a limited palette of objects and composing on black better represented my mood than a light-filled scene.
