Following the racial reckoning in America, dozens of activists in Nashville occupied the plaza in front of the state Capitol for 62 days. Protesting police brutality and racism. The state police repressed their movement with mass arrests. But this community composed primarily by women, resisted, by holding on to each other and constantly engaging in acts of civil disobedience. In total over 200 arrests were made during this occupation. And the governor responded by creating a new law that makes overnight protests a felony. Protesters will face up to 6-years in prison and loss of voting rights.
