This project aims to explore the world of China's left-behind children. They are the children of migrant workers, who have left their home villages to find work in the cities, and couldn't take their children with them. There are tens of millions of such children, who grow up without their parents in the Chinese countryside. Most of them live with their grandparents or other relatives, but some are on their own. I use photos and videos to document families from different provinces across the country, and stay for several weeks with each family, both in the villages and in the cities.
