Silent Interiors

Honorable Mention in Architecture / Interiors

This series captures beauty of mundane repetitions in a building's interiors, highlighted by the play of light and shadows. The effect, both, mesmerising and hypnotic. Undisturbed, one hears the silent calling out to be still. All images have been captured on black & white film.

Based at New Delhi, India, Prarthana Modi studied photography at Central St. Martins School of Art & Design and The School of Black & White Photography, London. A creative photographer, she captures all her images on conventional silver halide (black & white) film only. Her images are sold as limited edition, archival prints. The choice of black & white is because Prarthana likes to see the starkness of the situation, in the image - colours distract her from this. She has exhibited her works in solo & group exhibitions in India, London, Paris, Shanghai, Amsterdam, USA & UK.
