This essay looks at the use of new cameras, the way they inform our vision, the way they define our imagery. Our gaze upon reality is filtered through machines that we delude ourselves to own or master, but we are for the most part unaware of the many social and anthropological implications that the massive production of images carries with it. The impassive eye of an old film camera observes modernity, it does not dare casting a judgement, it only registers what it sees, unmoved, untouched by the effervescence of enthusiast mobile camera owners.
