Bad weather on the road offers an off-the-beaten path look at a daily, mundane event: getting on the road. All it takes is a foggy morning, rain on a windshield, for that routine trajectory to morph into a personal wandering through a strange universe. This landscape, whose elements we do not perceive the same way anymore, unfolds under our eyes. This road tethers us like a distant and fragile thread. The trees around us seem to accompany us in this transmutation. They change as our vision of the world evolves. A lone red dot, in the distance, represents our future, like an unwavering beacon.
While travelling through vast desertic places, Xavier Blondeau has been questionning the place of individuals in their environment.Since 2009 and apart from his activity as a Senior lecturer, her has focused his photographic work on the individual. It is presented and structured in photographic series and aims at addressing that question very closely. Since 2011, he has been very active and present in many exhibitions. His work is about intimacy being revealed as his various photographic series unfold.
