The 30-year-old Science of Complexity finds applications in economics and genetics et al.; but artists have evoked reality’s intricate convolutions—in symphonies, novels, paintings, & architecture—for over 250 years. Photography now adds a new voice. My work captures epiphanies adumbrating complex matrices—rock, ice, & aerials—revealing a profound truth: the world comprises vast, interconnected systems generated by repeated simple processes. From these emerge the full diversity of life, mineral evolution, and the underlying structures of nature—sources of both coherence & extraordinary beauty.
