THROUGH THE SKIN Something lives beneath the surface. Unseen, but constant. Hypochondria is not doubt. It is terror. A condition that strips you of control. That distorts every signal of the body until it becomes a threat. The mind does not protect you. It turns against you. Every sensation expands. Every silence becomes unbearable. Nothing feels stable. Nothing feels entirely real. These images emerge from that point — where the body opens and the mind begins to collapse. The scar can be seen. What it carries cannot.
Rocco De Simone is an Italian photographer and multidisciplinary artist, working across music, writing, and visual storytelling. As a singer, composer, and creative director of Faro prog band, his artistic practice has always been rooted in a deeply personal and expressive language. His photographic work explores identity, perception, and emotional tension through a cinematic and intimate approach, translating inner experiences into visual form. Moving between different mediums, his work is driven by a constant need to give shape to what cannot be directly expressed.
