Broken explores how iconic landmarks are perceived, remembered, and reconstructed in the mind. Inspired by Cubist principles of multiple viewpoints, the series fragments architectural monuments through layered photography and reassembles them within a single frame. Each image combines photographs taken from different angles, distances, and moments. These fragments are digitally interwoven to create simultaneous perspectives that challenge traditional photographic representation and reflect how perception and memory reshape places we believe to be stable and permanent.
Charlotte Fonne is a French American photographic artist based in Miami. Her work centers on a multilayer photographic technique that reconstructs places and monuments through fragmentation and visual layering. Influenced by her background in film editing, she approaches photography as a process of deconstruction and recomposition, exploring how memory and perception reshape the way we experience places. Her work has been exhibited at Aqua Art Miami, Praxis Photo Arts Center in Minneapolis, LoosenArt in Rome, and Spectrum Art Miami, and is part of the LUMAS Gallery collection.
