The fish was living a quite life in a beautiful lagoon in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Untill the drought came. For more than six months it didn't rain and the water level in the lagoon dropped untill only about 10 cm remained. One early morning at dawn in september 2024 I was just installing my photo-gear in my hide near the lagoon when the spoolbill appeared. He had an easy job catching the fish. I have been to this lagoon several times before, but I never saw the waterlevel that low. This is how climate change affects everyone's life.
