This series is a self-portrait exploring the boundaries of life, death, and solitude. The draped cloth within the work symbolizes the painful moments of life, and as we pass through those layers, we encounter the self. The mountain shape unfolding above the stairs is a fleeting capture of media art and reality overlapping, representing the ridge of hardship we must overcome every day. The umbrella I hold is both a consideration for others and a shelter that protects me. I sought to capture the dignity and quiet rest of humanity, embracing warmth even in solitude and advancing into the unknown.
I am a 67-year-old housewife and a self-portrait photographer. Rather than chasing fleeting moments, I focus on capturing the stillness and sublimity of beings that quietly endure in the flow of time. I seek to document the essence of objects and space, and a warm gaze toward humanity that becomes even clearer in the twilight of life.
