This project tells the story of the Coptic Christians community that lives by collecting, disposing of and recycling Cairo's waste. There are at least twenty thousand of them, and they are called "the "garbage men". They are the official waste collectors of the Egyptian capital. They collect garbage directly from the houses in the capital and bring it to this neighbourhood, recycling up to 80 per cent of Cairo's waste. Each garbage bag is opened, and its contents are manually divided. Here, work with waste and domestic life, garbage and the time of social life, make up the same reality
