The Dawn at the Terminus of the Forester to Bridport Tramway stretched 28 km and transported sawn timber to the port for shipment to Melbourne from 1913 to 1925. In 1938, the pier suffered partial damage due to an arson fire, and it was ultimately destroyed by another fire in 1941.
