Damaged

  • Photographer
    Diana Nicholette Jeon

Damaged constitutes an ongoing series that delves into Betrayal Trauma, which frequently unfolds within domestic spheres. Because I am a survivor, I used self-portraits. I then induced stress on the Polaroid emulsion via a series of reactions utilizing everyday household items and cleaning agents, manual manipulation, red light, and heat. The fragility of the Polaroid emulsion mirrors how our human skin and internal psychological landscape respond to external stimuli, visually displaying the repercussions of negative human interaction and manipulation.

Diana Nicholette Jeon is an award-winning contemporary artist who lives and works in Honolulu, HI. She holds an MFA from UMBC.
