Shining Beauties: An Italian Heritage

  • Photographer
    Christian Basetti

My photographic projects have been focused on exploring ancient Italian architectural treasures in decay. Sometimes, the beauty of a place is not enough on its own and is not fully enhanced without the right light. So, I often return at different hours, months, or seasons of the year to best capture the timeless and fleeting beauty of these splendors. Paradoxically, I find myself reacting quickly to seize the light in the right places, where time seems to flow very slowly.Light is the elegant dress I have chosen for these ancient glories, allowing them to shine again, through my pictorial style

Christian Basetti from Milan. Since 2015, he has been passionate about ancient decadent places, giving voice to these structures full of melancholy charm as if they were silent narcissistic creatures waiting for someone to express their greatness. Inspired by Caravaggio, he's creator of Forgotten Art-chitectures project, decayed places are not shot just with an usual limited documentary aspect, as many others do, but they are like painted fine art canvas aimed at aesthetics. Discoverer just about real places (not fake A.I)
