Based on botanical images, I thought about how all living things move from vibrancy to whispers of what they once were. This series is about transition and what remains in terms of memories of living things. Day to night, life to death, and the essence and spirit of their former existence that remains, extending their persona beyond their physical mortality. Cobalt and red, in combination with black, references their remaining life force with colorful nuances, not to be forgotten.

Lopez's photography work concerns itself with the natural world and the problems made by man. Much of her work is landscape or still lifes, often composited. Works such as birds, botanicals, and objects found on the forest floor. Her work is in many collections and she has exhibited extensively in the US as well as internationally with her award-winning photos. She loves being a part of the national/international community. She is published and has completed an artist's residency at Ragdale in Lake Forest, IL. In the fall of 2021, she will exhibit in Barcelona and will travel to Zimbabwe.
