Photo series "Merging" is a layering of several meanings. From one point it shows the burst of energy when new life originates. From the other point it shows an explosion that kills life. It´s about doubt and belief. It´s about life and death, which are going side by side. It´s about the search of light in the darkness. For this series I used my abstract light photography. The bodies of a man and a woman catch the light. The pattern of their bodies gets intertwined with the digital pattern, reflecting the multidimensional and the complex structure of the world and being.
Art for Yana Gryniv is an opportunity to be heard and to encourage others to think. Her artistic path began with pottery and silk-screen printing, then she turned to stained-glass painting and later added painting, photography and installation art to her circle of activities. In 2022 in Vienna she founded a curatorial platform Art Contact Ukraine. The platform facilitates collaboration between artists, cultural/governmental/diplomatic institutions, and activists. The scope of activity is defined through conceptual art, burning issues and cultural heritage.
