A gigantic Chinese national and Hong Kong flags are placed on the football pitch in Victoria Park in commemoration of the 25th Hong Kong handover on June 28, 2022 in Hong Kong, China. While July 1st marks the anniversary of Hong Kong’s handover from Britain to China, it is also the day when Hongkongers gather at the Victoria Park and rally annually to demand a variety of political concerns. In 2020, police ban the rally citing gathering limits during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the excuse of national security law. This year, Chinese flags are seen all over the city, and the rally perishes.
