Both series start with well-known camera techniques (ICM, DoF) and use layering to create images that reference artistic styles and techniques. I explore the intersections of photography and contemporary art where light and colour become the subject matter to reveal rich palettes and patterns, and layered rhythms and textures. My images explore unseen and abstract elements, creating fragmented painterly images. The Colour Studies originates with photographs of coloured papers and films, stacked in a 3D tower of glass shelves.
