This project shows some images of a small family factory, a traditional tannery, and the machinery used in the process of transforming sheepskins and fox furs. Certain traditional crafts have been lost in the whirlwind of civilization and in the confrontation with environmental standards.
João Miguel Barros was born in 1958, in Lisbon, Portugal. He is a Lawyer by profession, in Lisbon and Macau. Recent individual exhibitions: “Creative Macau”, Macau (2017), “Museu Berardo”, Lisbon, (2018), “Macau Contemporary Art Center”, Macau (2019), Albergue SCM (2019) and “Fund. Rui Cunha, Macau (2020). He has also participated in several group exhibitions. He published three photobooks. Currently he is publishing the “Zine Photo” (www.zine.photo) including his own work. João Miguel Barros is also a freelance curator in contemporary photography.
