The Beginning of Life on Earth

I saw a report about possible theories about the beginning of life on Earth. One theory involves the accumulation of molecules that further coalesced into complex microbial cells. I thought about how I could depict this photographically. By chance, I saw a bucket of frozen water in the garden that was already beginning to thaw. I saw small air bubbles in it and took out my camera with a macro lens. What I saw was incredible and I immediately thought that was it. I photographed different areas using manual settings. These images are my interpretation of what I saw on the science show.

I am 55 years old and live in Seligenstadt, Hesse. For many years, I worked as a landscape gardener, where I was able to work creatively with nature. Due to tragic events, I can no longer pursue my profession, which gave me time to devote more intensively to photography. Initially, it was primarily while traveling and in nature that I discovered abstract and contemporary photography. With a camera, you can create beautiful, individual works of art; you just have to get involved. This doesn't happen at the push of a button, however; it happens intuitively, based on the situation.
