Freedom from Nap Time This photograph is about motherhood and the feats that every mother performs from time to time. This self-portrait with my sons is an homage to Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix — but here I lead not the people, but a group of tiny revolutionaries who have overthrown the afternoon nap. Freedom from Nap Time is a victory for children and a defeat for silence. A small revolution that is especially hard on mothers — and the neighbors.
