Photographed on January 3, 2025, in the early morning cold of –22°C, this scene captures the profound stillness of winter in Hokkaido. Hoarfrost clings delicately to the trees as mist rises from the water, framing Mount Yotei—one of Hokkaido’s most iconic and beautiful peaks. In this frozen moment, the season reveals both its severity and its quiet elegance, offering a glimpse into winter’s most intimate and ethereal form.
As a hobby, I enjoy taking pictures of landscapes and flowers in my neighborhood on my work holidays.
