A torii gate in Japan is a symbol for the entrance to the sacred space. A white torii stands in the middle of the ocean. Far behind the Meoto Iwa, the Wedded Rocks rise from the sea. These are symbols of the eternal bond between a husband and wife. Bound together by sacred rope, they hold a prayer for eternal union. I tried to frame these two sacred scenes as one. Through long exposure and monochrome, I wanted to show a passage where water, sky, and spirit exist together. The slow-moving clouds and ocean waves dissolve into one another.
