Vitebsk is the cultural capital of Belarus and the "Slavianski Bazaar", the city of Marc Chagall and Kazimir Malevich, the same age as Ukrainian Kyiv and Russian Smolensk, one of the oldest cities in Belarus, which arose on the steep banks of the Western Dvina and Vitba, in the middle of the trade route "from the Varangians to the Greeks". Latvians, Poles, Belarusians, Jews, Russians have been baking this city like a pie for a thousand years. Belarusians are very calm people who accept different versions of culture and strive to recreate them for themselves.
