Nomad Family in the Dades Gorge (Morocco). We spotted the camp from the mountain pass road, where I took the wide photograph of the rock formation with the nomad camp illuminated by the sun. The children were the first to notice us. They waved us over, and we made our way upward through the rocks toward the camp. We had approached while the elderly man was away with the goats, so only the women and children were present. The mother (wearing the white scarf) was clearly the person who held the real authority in the camp.
