My healing journey

  • Photographer

Silver in Analog / Film / Fine Art

This series was created as a personal record of my inner journey, using Japanese scenery as motifs, whilst I was undergoing a process of self-healing. I was on the verge of losing sight of the meaning of my life, but I decided to trust the quiet passion deep within my heart, to be true to myself, and to embark on an exploration of my inner self. These images represent the light and shadow within me, quietly emerging onto photographic paper in the form of fragmented emotions and memories. This project traces the journey of my inner voyage to regain my self-respect.

His photographs focus on memory, tranquillity and transience. He is an expert in alternative printing (Lith-prints). In particular, the fact that ‘lith-print’—a development technique using black-and-white film—requires an extremely long development time in the darkroom holds significant meaning for him. The process of printing the image onto photographic paper in the darkness—where colors emerge naturally—is an important time for him to engage in introspection. He believes that artistic activity plays a major role in the process of fostering self-liberation and self-affirmation.
