The new V&A East in Stratford, London was recently completed and I was struck by the sharp triangular shapes which are built in to the exterior structure. The morning sun casts very string shadows and I decided to make an image showing as much of the contrast as I could. For this I decided to use a pinhole camera with some 5x4 sheet film. I love the extreme contrast a pinhole camera can provide, along with a dreamlike quality which I think is impossible with a digital camera.
