When I stand before seasonal landscapes I feel a bittersweet nostalgia—what the Japanese call wabi‑sabi. I initially experimented with timelapse, but compressing time into a sequence felt mechanical and flattened the layered, reflective emotion I sought. Instead I photographed scenes where seasonal states coexist in a single frame: frost and autumn leaves, spring flowers with snow accumulating or fresh green, green trees beside reddening ones, a lake beginning to freeze. Each still contains overlapping moments that suggest the passage of time and the quiet, melancholic beauty of change.
