This series contains images of life in the still traditional, authentic Romanian homes where I was so warmly welcomed by each of the residents during my travels through Romania. The encounter behind each photograph is still vivid in my mind, and I often left moved and overwhelmed with prayers for myself and my family. It was a truly emotional journey for me and a life worth documenting.
Photographer from Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands. I started out photographing landscapes, but I have always had a profound interest in human storytelling. Although I lacked courage and confident to approach people on my own, a trip to Romania changed that perspective. That journey met my desire to expand my understanding of the world, and behind the camera, I finally lost my fear. I believe that I have found my passion again and strongly feel this is the way I wanna move forward: telling stories through my lens.
