On Paths of The Wind

  • Photographer
    Andi Balogh

This series combines the aesthetics of boreal landscapes with the human form, focusing on the spiritual aspects of existence as Self-connection, finding lost harmony and freedom, for which nature provides a guide and a cure. Each photograph has its own symbolic meaning, and these works reflect my gratefulness to northern nature being a shelter in difficult times. During my pilgrimages on the lands of Finland, Iceland, Lapland and Norway, I strived to capture the presence, the teaching and the purifying power of nature. I created images alone during hikes by using myself as figure of images.

Andi Balogh is a self-taught Hungarian photographer living in Kirkkonummi, Finland. She began exploring visual art after moving to Finland in 2009. As an enthusiastic hiker Andi creates her images alone during hikes by using herself as figure of images. Rather than traditional self-portraits, her aim is to depict a human figure without identity, as part of a greater whole, reaching the connection with nature, allegorically connection with inner spheres.
