Mineral Arteries

    Haochen He

From above, the salt extraction ponds of Dachaidan in Qinghai, China, form a striking mosaic of emerald and turquoise waters framed by pale mineral crusts. The geometric scars of human activity cut through the surrounding earth, tracing the paths of roads and excavation sites. These vivid pools, created through industrial processes, contrast sharply with the arid plateau, telling the stories of both the engineered precision and environmental impact of resource extraction.

I am an architectural designer specializing in sports and venue projects. I received my Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University. Alongside this professional role, I also pursue work in fine art, photography, and writing. My architectural projects have been recognized through international awards, while my artistic and photographic works have been exhibited and published in magazines in EU and NA. In addition, my writings have appeared in magazines in China, Korea, and the United States. I continue to develop these four areas in parallel, allowing them to inform and enrich one another.
