Janusz Russek(Poland)has been using the stage name Mr.Chap for many years. In 2023-24,he will be engaged by the largest Czech circus, Humberto. The photographs capture the clown in a way that the audience cannot see him. Preparations behind the scenes, life in his small caravan, the joys and worries of everyday life, when there is often no smile on his face. In the circus, the audience must not know that he is suffering from, for example, health, separation from family and many other everyday problems. 44 years old. Self-taught photographer. Education with a high school diploma in pastry. Married, 4 children. I have lived in my hometown of Znojmo almost all my life. My main source of income is my specialization in school photography. In my freelance work, I devote myself to long-term documentation of everyday life. I prefer series to single images. My work was most influenced by working with people with disabilities as a substitute for mandatory military service. This changed my work as a pastry chef to work as an educator. During this time, photography was my greatest hobby.
