NANA

Khisabavra is a small village on the Javakheti plateau in southern Georgia. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the region experienced a slow decline, and many emigrated. Today, at over 1,000 meters above sea level, around 250 families farm and raise animals. Among them is Nana, who produces traditional Sulguni cheese. Part of the cheese is sold in Tbilisi, the rest traded within the village. Nana is also known for her hospitality, offering a hot meal and a listening ear. In this solitude, a tenacious strength reigns, with women like her guarding the future of the mountains.

Sono nata a Zevio in provincia di Verona dove vivo e lavoro. Da sempre appassionata di fotografia. Sono interessata alla fotografia sociale e al reportage. Attraverso la fotografia cerco di raccontare storie ed esprimere idee, come non trascuro l’aspetto estetico ed artistico nascosto nell’ordinarietà del quotidiano.
