This small but stunning frog, Raorchestes chlorosomma, is commonly known as the ‘green-eyed bush frog due to its beautifully streaked eyes. A Critically Endangered species, it is found in Munnar and parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu within the Western Ghats of India. Its habitat has been severely impacted by eucalyptus and tea plantations.
Since childhood, the wild has always intrigued me, the many trips to the forest of Nagarhole that my father would take me to were one of the main reasons that drew me towards nature.
