Dustlight, Freetown

  • Photographer
    Sergej Holzmann

In Sierra Leone, the streets breathe a slow, heavy rhythm—thick with heat, dust, and life. Between roadside stalls and the buzz of motorbikes, a quiet choreography unfolds. This series captures the texture of the everyday: improvised, sun-soaked, and unhurried. Not a story of spectacle, but of presence. A place where time bends, and heat and dust become part of how people move, wait, and endure.

Born in Kazakhstan and raised in Germany, I am a Munich-based photographer passionate about capturing the essence of human connection across cultures. Specializing in travel, street and documentary photography, my work focuses on the shared moments, stories, and emotions that unite us. Through my images, I aim to create windows into diverse worlds, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty and complexity of each moment. Driven by a love for storytelling, I strive to highlight both the universal and the unique aspects of my subjects.
