About a year ago I watched a Youtube video of Cuba and just realized that Ladas are still very popular cars in the country. It immediately brought back childhood memories because my Dad had an orange colored 1.2 version. I was utterly mesmerized and decided to create a photo essay of it like a visual love story. Cubans have been so proud of their Ladas since the early 70's. Spare parts are still imported from Russia including hand made items.They make any kind of effort to run them and keep them original.You can see lots of vivid colored,repainted versions on the roads.
