The village of Katowice received city rights only in 1865, but quickly, together with the entire region, it advanced to the most important industrial centers of Europe. Nature endowed this place with, among other things, rich coal deposits. Traces of this industrialization can be found to this day. Katowice is full of contrasts, Art Nouveau and modernist buildings and impressive structures. There is only one direction of change: towards a metropolis. This constant process of change is shown in my album "Katowice - Metamorphoses" (265pages), which I published at my own expense at the age of 87.
