I present my photographic project on life in a village in Brazil, nestled among the vast sugarcane plantations in the Pernambuco region. This village is just one of many similar places scattered across this rural area. Here, people's lives seem suspended and bound to the agricultural cycle of sugarcane harvesting. The prospects for personal improvement are minimal: the only way out for those seeking better living conditions is to leave the countryside, abandoning everything they know. Individual lives are not considered valuable but merely faceless lives
