Giraffes move across the Amboseli plain in Kenya. They can spend up to 20 hours a day grazing and looking for water. Towering in the distance is Mount Kilimanjaro with its vanishing snow cap. A most serene environment which illustrates the beauty and also the fragility of the African ecosystems. The mountain has a special meaning for me as I climbed it on my first trip to Africa over 30 years ago. The beauty of the scenes I have witnessed on that continent ever since that first trip is just amazing.
