Despite all doubts, it will work out - somehow. I am fascinated by transforming material realities into abstract photographs in order to visualize hidden aspects of the reality I perceive.  I explore how to represent the invisible like thoughts, feelings or ideas. My photographic process allows me to merge visible and invisible parts of my reality into one atmospheric image, without digital manipulation.  A visual language emerges that allows me to enter into an individual engagement with the world, as in poetry, and to tell of the hidden aspects of my reality in lyrical abstraction.

I learned my photographic craft from the photographer Valentin Schwab. During a specialized internship with him in 1986/87, I gained profound insights into the technique and aesthetics of documentary photography. After a specialized internship in film and studio production at Bayerischer Rundfunk in 1988, I worked for several years as a camera assistant, both in analogue and electronic film recording. Over the years, I have increasingly abstracted my visual language. In my current work, I explore the representation of the subliminal, the ineffable and the ephemeral with abstract photographs.
