It was a lie raises a reflection on the moldability of memory and how we interpret the memories lived or recounted to generate new stories from a personal fiction. In this way, I design my own scenario, fictionalizing a spatio-temporal rupture based on Foucault’s concept of heterotopia, which stated that apparently incompatible spaces in time could be juxtaposed in the same real space. In this way, my mother and I are, in some way, back together again video of the book: https://www.carolgalinanes.com/portfolio-item/era-mentira-it-was-a-lie/

“Mixing and experimentation are a constant in my projects, which are the result of the use of different techniques, materials and supports and the fusion of disciplines such as photography, design or installation. I develop all this interdisciplinarity from the conceptual base that has become the axis of most of my pieces: fragility. Most of the time I work autobiographically through self-portraits, family archive photographs and my own vulnerability.”
